History

PCS was founded in 2001 by the tax and ERISA attorneys at Dilworth Paxson, LLP, a firm with over 250 employees and self-employed individuals including over 100 attorneys resident in 5 offices with broad and diverse experience representing regional and national clients. Former partners include a former mayor of Philadelphia (firm founder Richardson Dilworth), countless federal and state judges and directors and presidents of major corporations and public institutions. In the firm's proud 75-year history it had not established a subsidiary or affiliate to perform non-legal services until it formed PCS. PCS was created after an internal analysis of potential growth opportunities for the firm and, since its inception, Dilworth has committed significant resources to PCS. (As far as we know, PCS remains a fairly unique endeavor for a large law firm).

2008

• PCS joins the INC 5000 as one of the fastest growing businesses in the US.
  
  
  
  
• For the 2nd year in a row PCS was ranked as one of the 100 fastest-growing, privately-held businesses in the Philadelphia region by the Philadelphia 100.

2007

• PCS was selected as the exclusive provider of daily-valuation recordkeeping services for the new 401(k) platform for Wisdom Tree Investments.

• Based on the results of a survey published by Plan Sponsor Magazine, from 2005 to 2006 PCS was one of the 5 fastest growing daily-valuation 401(k) recordkeepers in the United States.

• PCS was ranked as one of the 100 fastest-growing, privately-held businesses in the Philadelphia region by the Philadelphia 100, a joint project of the Wharton Small Business Development Center, the Entrepreneurs’ Forum of Greater Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Business Journal.

2006

• PCS was designated as one of the premier providers of daily-valuation recordkeeping and third-party administration services for TD Ameritrade, Inc.

• PCS launches ManagedPlan, a retirement program offering direct access to comprehensive, managed account programs maintained by a selection of independent investment managers, each with a distinct investment philosophy and history of performance. ManagedPlan is a true managed account platform offering a clear choice of independent (unrelated) investment managers (with combined assets under management of over $10 billion).

2005

• PCS was selected as the exclusive provider of daily-valuation recordkeeping services for the leading independent provider of managed account and mutual fund services.

2004

• PCS was designated as one of four recordkeepers to become part of the Ameritrade TPA Network.

2003

• PCS was designated as one of three recordkeepers recommended by TD Waterhouse Institutional Services.

• PCS was selected as one of four recordkeepers recommended by Dimensional Fund Advisors to their respective advisors.
